Frequently Asked Questions
How much will it cost?
I charge reasonable fees based on a sliding scale, depending on which therapy you choose. My fees are from £50 per session for individuals depending on the type of therapy you choose. Couples therapy is from £70 per session. I offer some concessions for student counsellors who are required to undertake personal therapy as a requirement of their course of study.
How long do the sessions last?
Counselling/psychotherapy sessions last one hour. Some hypnotherapy sessions, such as Smoking Cessation, will last for two hours. Clinical supervision sessions last either 1 or 1.5 hours. I offer both group and individual supervision to student and qualified counsellors and hypnotherapists. Holistic therapy sessions last for approximately one hour.
How many sessions will I need?
It is very difficult to predict how many sessions will you require - it very much depends on the issue you wish to work on and how you feel your are progressing, but this would be discussed with you at the outset. You do have the choice of either short or long-term work, although a short-term model would be used for the former.
How do I get started?
I offer all potential clients an initial 20-minute consultation, which is FREE of charge. This takes place at my private practice near Woking and gives us an opportunity to discuss what you would like to work on and then decide if we wish to work together. If so, in the first session I will set up the Administrative Contract with you and clearly explain its terms and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Then I will conduct a detailed assessment, at the end of which we will discuss a therapeutic approach which may suit your needs.
