Frequently Asked Questions
How much will it cost?
I charge reasonable fees based on a sliding scale. My fees start from £60 per session depending on the type of therapy you choose. I offer some concessions for student counsellors who are required to undertake personal therapy or supervision as a requirement of their course of study.
How long do the sessions last?
Counselling/psychotherapy sessions last for one hour. Some EMDR and hypnotherapy sessions (Smoking Cessation) may last from 1.5 to 2 hours. Clinical supervision sessions last either 1 or 1.5 hours. I offer both group and individual supervision to student and qualified counsellors, hypnotherapists and other practitioners. Holistic therapy sessions last for approximately one hour.
How many sessions will I need?
It is very difficult to predict how many sessions will you need - it very much depends on the issue you wish to work on and how you feel you are progressing, but this would be discussed with you at the outset. Regular reviews are conducted throughout your therapy so we can monitor your progress. You have the choice of either short or long-term work, although short-term work is based on a different model known as Brief Solution Focused therapy.
How do I get started?
I offer all potential clients/supervisees an initial 20-minute consultation, which is FREE of charge. This is an opportunity for us to discuss your needs and goals, and decide if we wish to work together. If you would then like to book an appointment, the first session is dedicated to setting up the Contract, conducting a detailed assessment and discussing an appropriate treatment plan to meet your needs.
